Marking a Late Arrival from Unknown Absences Page

Students will from time to time arrive late to school. You can enter a late arrival for a student from the Unknown Absences Screen.

To enter a late arrival:

  1. Go to Menu > Attendance > Unknown Absences.
  2. Select the date that you want to see the students who were considered absent without reason.
  1. In the student’s card, click ADD LATE ARRIVAL.

A new screen will appear.

  1. Complete the data entry fields, ensuring correct time and date.

Below is a description of each field:

ReasonExplanation of late arrival.
NotesAdditional information required as part of the explanation.
Date/TimeOf arrival.
CategoriesThe category that the absence is to be placed in – this can be one or more categories – E.g. Sick and Chicken Pox – it is totally dependent on the school policies. Attendance Categories are maintained by the school’s administration person in the System Codes section.
Arrival is school approvedClick this box to mark the absence as School Approved, meaning it will not count as an absence towards any government attendance calculations. E.g. A student who is away at a regional sports carnival and therefore regarded as being present for attendance calculations is physically not at the school.
  1. Click Save.

The student card will turn green.

After refreshing your page the student will no longer appear under Unknown Absences.

You can click CONTACTS on the student card to find details of the guardians if explanation of absence is needed. Click on the particular contact you want details for and a modal will appear with the information (if you have been granted access by the school).
